Michael Dettloff knew he did not want to be a hotel manager any longer — teaching was his calling. So he set about to find the teacher preparation program that met his requirements: innovative preparation of teachers, practical applications, and the capacity to be certified in less than a year at an affordable tuition.
TEACH-NOW met every standard.
Today, Michael, a 2014 TEACH-NOW graduate, is a middle school teacher of exceptional children in Horton Middle School in Chatham County, North Carolina. In crediting the TEACH-NOW teacher training program for providing the foundation needed for success in the classroom, Michael commented, “TEACH-NOW Educatore prepared me for real life in the workforce of education. I know what to do because of TEACH-NOW.”
Michael saw the uniqueness of the program. “It was really innovative. We could talk with people from Beijing and other parts of the world in the online platform while working on our projects,” he remarked. The collaborative nature of TEACH-NOW fosters connections among members of small cohorts in which candidates study, and Michael remains in contact with a few members of his group.
In addition, Michael stated that the “key elements of learning the instructional modules were broken into understandable parts” and were designed for a time frame that allowed the activities to be completed within the week, permitting him to enjoy personal pursuits on the weekends.
Further, he singled out the practical approach of TEACH-NOW as it related to lesson planning. “The lesson planning module prepared me really well in planning multiple lessons and for differentiating. I was always ready.”
